BBMP East Zone Commissioner Smt. Snehal R (IAS) Conducts Follow-Up Visit to Kasturinagar BDA Layout

Smt. Snehal R (IAS), Zonal Commissioner for the East Zone of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), visited the Kasturinagar BDA Layout on Monday, August 18, 2025. This marked her second visit within a month, as part of her continued engagement with the community to review civic issues and environmental challenges in the area.

During the visit, the Commissioner inspected key problem areas, including B. Channasandra Lake, the rajakaluve at 2nd Cross, the segregation plant construction site at the BBMP Ward Office, and the segregation point at 3rd Cross Road, which has been causing foul odour and traffic congestion. She also reviewed the railway underpass and the Benniganahalli North Lake, both of which have been long-standing concerns for residents.

The Kasturinagar Welfare Association (KWA) team presented a detailed briefing on various civic issues affecting the locality. These included:

  • Park maintenance and greening initiatives
  • Street lighting improvements for safety and accessibility
  • Widening of the railway underpass towards Old Madras Road to ease traffic flow
  • Construction of a retaining wall for the rajakaluve behind 2nd Cross and 2H Main
  • Widening of 1st Main Road to accommodate rising traffic
  • Beautification of the space under the flyover to improve aesthetics and reduce misuse
  • Solid waste and garbage management issues
  • Beautification of the BBMP Ward Office park to create a community-friendly environment

After hearing the concerns, Commissioner Snehal R (IAS) provided valuable and practical suggestions. She emphasized the importance of scientific waste segregation, tree plantation drives, and sustained beautification efforts to enhance the living standards of the residents. She also assured the residents of BBMP’s full support in implementing constructive and sustainable measures to keep the layout clean, safe, and resilient against environmental hazards.

The KWA team extended its heartfelt gratitude to Zonal Commissioner Snehal R (IAS), the Chief Engineer, and other BBMP officials for their active participation, time, and encouragement. Their involvement was seen as a positive step towards addressing long-pending civic issues and ensuring the holistic development of the Kasturinagar BDA Layout.
